May 25, 2005 - St. Lucie County Administration Building Addition Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Set
St. Lucie County will celebrate its Centennial in July of this year. As part of many celebrations throughout the year, County Commissioners will officially "kick off" the anniversary party on Thursday, May 26 as they host a Grand Re-Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the new Administration Building in Fort Pierce. The event, slated for 10 a.m., will take residents and visitors on a trip down "Memory Lane" with a presentation of tales of the County from the turn of the century through the decades. Located at 2300 Virginia Avenue, the new $2.1 million Administration addition houses the offices of the Tax Collector, Utilities, Property Appraiser and Growth Management.The celebration will feature presentations from the Lincoln Park Academy orchestra ensemble and the Fort Pierce Magnet School of the Arts band. After the ceremony, tours of the building will be available.
