May 26, 2005 - Indian River Drive Closed Due to Road Washout

Although currently not open to the public, Indian River Drive between Midway Road and Walton Road has now been closed to residents in both directions due to a washout in the road. The washout occurred at 10303 S. Indian River Drive from the heavy rainfall yesterday. Southbound traffic will be stopped and re-routed at Midway Road and northbound traffic will be re-routed at Walton Road in Port St. Lucie. The washout occurred at a location that the County was not permitted by the property owner to improve during the major reconstruction of the hurricane damaged road. Sheriffs deputies and barricades are in place to re-route traffic until the road is repaired.
