July 21, 2005 - St. Lucie County Library to Feature Author Steve Alten for Upcoming Episode of SLCTV's "Writers Block"
St. Lucie County's Library System will host a lecture by author Steve Alten on Thursday, Aug. 11 at 1 p.m. at the Main Library in Downtown Fort Pierce. Residents are encouraged to attend and be a part of the "studio audience" as the lecture will be videotaped for a September edition of SLCTV's "Writers Block." Alten will discuss his writing career, read some of his new book "The Loch" and answer questions from the audience."Writers Block" is a new program that airs on SLCTV, St. Lucie County's government access channel, featuring local and national authors discussing their latest projects. Alten's works include the New York Times best-seller "Meg," "The Trench," "Domain" and "Goliath." Alten will be reading from his latest book "The Loch," discussing his national reading program called "Adopt an Author," and signing his books. "Writers Block" airs Sundays at 7 p.m.; Tuesdays at midnight, Thursdays at 9 p.m., Fridays at noon and Saturdays at 8 a.m. - unless pre-empted by a St. Lucie County Commission meeting or workshop. SLCTV can be seen on Comcast Cable channel 21 and Adelphia Cable channel 20 inside the City of Fort Pierce and in the unincorporated areas of St. Lucie County.
