April 4, 2006 - Bluegrass Music and Cracker Storytelling This Friday at the Oxbow Eco-Center
When was the last time you sent your horse to the store to buy an ice-cold Coca-Cola? Come sit a spell and listen to some local yarns spun by master storyteller and Ft. Pierce native John Durham. Join in the fun as the Oxbow Eco-Center hosts its final Eco-Friday night-time event with a little local lore and toe tappin' bluegrass music by local favorites, the Hot Sauce Boys. All the fun is happening this Friday, April 7th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.The Hot Sauce Boys are a three-piece, eclectic accoustical group who specialize in "American" music. They play a variety of musical styles which includes bluegrass, jazz, folk and blues. Don't miss this special concert by this Treasure Coast favorite!
Mr. John Durham, a seventh generation Cracker cattleman, is a local legend filled with stories and lore about the unique history of the Treasure Coast. Come listen to the adventures of a Ft. Pierce native that found pirate treasure, rode his horse Silver Blaze into town, and spent hot days swimming in the North Fork of the St. Lucie River. Mr. Durham’s fascinating family history and stories about growing up in our area will delight children and adults of all ages and bring back fond memories of another time.

Oxbow Eco-Center, St. Lucie County's premiere Environmental Learning Center, is situated on 220 acres of land on the St. Lucie River. The Oxbow is located at 5400 N.E.
