April 5, 2006 - Master Gardeners Present "Spring Into Gardening" Festival

The St. Lucie County Master Gardeners will present their annual "Spring Into Gardening" Festival on Saturday, April 22 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the St. Lucie County Extension office located at 8400 Picos Road in Fort Pierce.

The festival will allow guests to enjoy the ever-popular "Plant Fashion Show" and "A Taste of the Tropics." Other activities planned include the Master Gardener Plant Sale and Clinic, children's activities and presentations on ponds, shade gardens, butterfly gardens, insects, weed control and coastal plantings. Horticulture vendors will be on-hand selling garden art, supplies, roses, orchids, bromeliads and more. The Master Gardeners will also distribute copies of their Green Thumb Digest as heard on WQCS 88.9 FM. As an added feature, guests may take a tour of the "Hurricane House" and learn "tricks of the trade" to prepare for hurricane season!
