The St. Lucie County Library System, in conjunction with the Friends of the Library and The Florida Humanities Council, is offering a free summer speaker series called "Road Scholar Speaker Series: Travel the American Experience with Us."Friday, June 23, 2 p.m. - "America at War," Betty Jean Steinshouer portrays Willa Cather, Majorie Rawlings and Gertrude Stein as they share their experiences of WWII at Morningside Library, located at 2410 Morningside Boulevard in Port St. Lucie
Friday, June 30, 11 a.m. - "Journal of Light," John Moran narrates a slide show of his remarkable collection of landscape photography at Lakewood Park Library, located at 7605 Santa Barbara Road in Fort Pierce
Friday, July 14, 1:30 p.m. - "Zora Live," Phyllis McEwen portrays anthropologist, folklorist and celebrated writer Zora Neale Hurston at Fort Pierce Library, located at 101 Melody Lane in downtown Fort Pierce
Friday, July 21, 11 a.m. - "On Hemingway: Three Views," Betty Jean Steinshouer portrays Willa Cather, Marjorie Rawlings and Gertrude Stein with three new perspectives on Ernest Hemingway at Morningside Library, located at 2410 Morningside Boulevard in Port St. Lucie
