Media Relations
The Media Relations Division of the County's Administration Department is tasked with providing up-to-date information about all Board of County Commission happenings and events to both the residents of St. Lucie County and area media outlets. Through press releases, public services announces, the County's website and government access channel (SLCTV - Comcast 21), the staff generates publicity for all departments from programs at the libraries to events at the Oxbow Eco-Center.
In addition to producing five monthly original programs, the SLCTV staff televises Board of County Commission meetings and workshops, as well as meetings for the Code Enforcement Board and Planning & Zoning Board. These meetings are broadcast live on SLCTV and online via SLCTV's website. All meetings and original programs are archived and available for purchase on DVD or for viewing online via the Video on Demand service through the SLCTV website.
The Media Relations Division consists of four employees: the Technical Operations Manager and two Media Specialists and the Public Information Officer. The mission of the division is to promote and enhance St. Lucie County through consistent, professional high-quality imagery via television (SLCTV), publications and media relations. The staff has won numerous regional and national awards for its work, including recognition from the Treasure Coast Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association, the Florida Government Communicators Association and the National Association of Counties Information Officers.
