The St. Lucie County Growth Management Department is comprised of the Current Planning Section, Long Range Planning Section and the Towns, Villages, and Countryside (TVC) Planning Section. Growth Management ensures that land use planning and economic development occur in a rational and quality manner. In addition, the Growth Management Department aims at achieving and maintaining the desired level of service of public facilities and services concurrent with development.
The Growth Management Department is responsible for the review of all site plan and development review applications through the Development Review Committee (DRC). The DRC is a committee composed of the following personnel or their designee or designees: the County Administrator, the Director of Public Works, the Building Official, the Environmental Resources Director, the Current Planning Manager, the Long Range Planning Manager, the TVC Planning Manager, the Utilities Director, the St. Lucie County School Board, the Director of Health and Human Services, the Fire District, the Sheriff's Office and other personnel as designated or assigned by the Director.
