About 60% of St. Lucie County's citizens are of prime working age. This labor force is a young and energetic one with the median age being 42 years.  The School Board of St. Lucie County, Indian River Community College and the Workforce Development Board of the Treasure Coast provide a variety of training programs. Training services include on-the-job training, incumbent worker training, vocational and technical training, work readiness training, labor market information, and customized training designed to meet specific business needs.
