St. Lucie County is hosting an information session on Community Land Trusts (CLT’s) presented by the Florida Housing Coalition and would like for you to join!

With limited public funds and the enormous gap between the average income of Florida’s workforce and the cost of housing, Florida’s communities are looking to new tools to meet the housing needs of Florida’s residents. A community land trust refers to the vehicle that separates land from house for the purpose of transferring title to the house without selling the land. Join us for an educational session on Community Land Trusts and how they can create opportunities for affordable housing in your community.

If you are interested in attending, please RSVP to Comm_Info@stlucieco.org by no later than Friday July 14, 2017.

FORT PIERCE – The St. Lucie HOME Consortium invites residents and non-profits located in all three counties to participate in a community needs survey. This survey is intended to gather information from the public on needed community facilities and services. The information will be used to establish recommendations in the Consolidated Plan and the First Year Action Plan to be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The survey can be found at  the links below and will be available now through July 24, 2017.

In June of 2006, the unincorporated areas of St. Lucie, Martin, and Indian River counties came together to form the St. Lucie HOME Consortium, with St. Lucie County as the lead agency. This partnership has brought federal funding from the HUD HOME Investment Partnerships Program to these three areas which would have otherwise been unavailable due to population size. Each year the Consortium is required to submit an annual action plan which identifies priorities and strategies to be undertaken utilizing HOME funding for the next fiscal year. Every five years the Consolidated Plan is required to be submitted and identifies needs and priorities to be addressed over the upcoming five year program cycle.
