The Lucie Awards Programs

Program Mission: To recognize the finest artists of SLC's of various genres with a lifetime achievement award - the Lucie Award.  It is also the purpose of the CAC to discover new and emerging talent and to promote the appreciation of the arts. The following awards are given during the Lucie Awards:

Lifetime Achievement (an individual who has dedicated his/her entire life to an art form)

  • Performing
  • Humanitarian
  • Visual
  • Education

The Lucie Award statuette was influenced by a local artist, Mr. Pat Cochran.

Nominating Process: Each year, the citizens of SLC are asked to nominate individuals who have devoted their life to the arts forms suggested above during the Lucie Awards ceremony. Once the nominations have been received, the Lucie awards committee reviews the applications and selects the slate of finalists which is then presented to the Board of Directors of Cultural Affairs.

Awardees will have the opportunity to show their work at the Lucie Awards as will as in a future the St Lucie County Culture Affairs ArtsView magazine publication, distributed throughout the community.

Youth Scholarship: Proceeds from the LA program as well as any donations from private sources are placed in trust for the Lucie Award scholarship program.  Anyone wishing to take advantage of this program is encouraged to contact CAC at (772) 462-1767.
