Community Development Block Grant 2005 Disaster Recovery Initiatives (CDBG DRI)

Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery Initiatives funding has been made available to the state by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, pursuant to the Military Construction Appropriations and Emergency Hurricane Supplemental Appropriations Act.

St. Lucie County has designated these funds to be used for:

  • Rehabilitation of housing  
  • Street improvements
  • Drainage improvements.

Resident applications for these funds are available. Please contact the Housing Division directly for an application for Housing Assistance.

These funds are being used to provide street improvements on Darwin Blvd. in Port St. Lucie. The remainder will be used to repair housing units that were damaged during Hurricane Wilma. Applicants for the repair program need to fall in the low to very-low Income range based on family size.

CDBG DRI Supplemental - The CDBG DRI Supplemental funding will be used to repair/replace housing units damaged after Hurricane Wilma. The funding will also be used for water and sewer improvements on Avenue Q in Fort Pierce and drainage improvements in the CIty of Port St. Lucie.
