Park Information

A half-mile interpretive trail meanders through a 44-acre scrub forest of oak and pine, located south of State Road 70, off Gordy Road. Compost restrooms, picnic pavilion, fishing pier and an 18-hole disc golf course are located here. The nine-acre lake is designated "catch and release."

Additional Information Trails: A 1/2 mile interpretive trail meanders through a scrubby flatwoods community identifying the most common species.
Habitat: Mostly scrubby flatwoods containing sand live oak, myrtle oak and chapmans oak with scattered Slash pine.
Commonly seen wildlife: Anhinga, turkey vulture, black vulture, alligator, bobcat and deer.
Historical Interest A 9-acre lake was created during the mining operation for the adjacent highway system.

 

Note: Only electric motors are allowed on the lake. A designated Catch and Release area.  For rules see kiosk.
