St. Lucie County Earns AAF Angel Award
The St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners was recognized this week with a Silver Angel Award for its communications efforts during Hurricane Irma by the American Adverting Federation (AAF) Fourth District.
The AAF Fourth District Angel annual competition recognizes excellence in public service adverting throughout Florida and the Caribbean. St. Lucie County received a Sliver Award in the Health and Public Safety category for its public outreach efforts during Hurricane Irma. Prior to, during and following Hurricane Irma, St. Lucie County issued 26 press releases, nearly 300 posts to social media and broadcast 11 live briefings from the Emergency Operations Center, reaching more than 348,000 people on Facebook with an average response rate of less than 15 minutes during the month of September.
The AAF Fourth District is comprised of 19 local federations throughout Florida and the Caribbean representing nearly 1,000 members. Its goal is to educate advertising professionals and students, monitor legislative issues, recognize excellence, drive traffic to businesses and help build our economy.
