St. Lucie County District 2 Commissioner Mowery Resigns Citing Personal Reasons
St. Lucie County District 2 Commissioner Tod Mowery advised County Administration Monday evening of his intent to resign from office, effective Jan. 1, 2018 citing personal reasons.
Mowery sent a letter to Florida Gov. Rick Scott announcing his decision to step down from public office while he worked “through deeply private issues.” Mowery was elected to serve the District 2 County Commission seat in 2010 and re-elected in 2014.
St. Lucie County officials will work with Governor Scott’s Office regarding how to move forward with the vacant County Commission seat. The District 2 seat is scheduled to be on the ballot during the 2018 election cycle. St. Lucie County Commissioners are elected county-wide to serve one of five districts, serving four-year terms.
