St. Lucie County Offers Water Safety Presentations to Local Elementary School Students
St. Lucie County Parks and Recreation Department is offering Free Water Safety Presentations to students at local elementary schools. After a busy summer aquatics season, the Aquatics staff has once again begun conducting water safety presentations to kindergarten through second grade students in St. Lucie Public Schools.
The goal is to reduce the potential for drowning and near drowning incidents in St. Lucie County by providing essential information that will help children to become safer in and around water.
Water safety presentations may be done in large groups in cafeterias or auditoriums, as well as in smaller classroom settings, and will be scheduled throughout the school year. Presentations include information on water safety tips, swimming pool rules, adult supervision, safety barriers for home swimming pools, available swimming lessons, etc.
Since the program began in 2015, St. Lucie County Aquatics Staff have taught more than 2,000 students to be safer in and around water.
To schedule a free presentation, please contact Aquatics and Safety Coordinator Adam Jones at 772-462-2560, firstname.lastname@example.org, or Special Facilities Coordinator Jennifer Anglin at 772-462-1991, email@example.com.
